The History of WitchyCon and How It Came To Be Here Now

It started, as all things seem to, with a gripe. A complaint if you will. It was the morning after when in an hour before breakfast, a 2,000 member convention in a conference hotel over a weekend had been scheduled which included an overnight program, a fan program, cheap food, good beer, interesting speakers, tons of workshops, coffee klatches, a games room, writers workshops and more. It had gotten to the point of determining which guests to invite and had progressed to looking at potential committee members when the pair realized that an hour had passed and they had completely organized a convention sure to please a wide fan base.

Knowing that they could not simply offer it out of the blue without building up to it, WitchyCon was born as a small, 100 member convention with a view of building it up to a 2,000+ weekend convention. Bringing aspects like author cocktail parties, coffee klatches, overnight programs, fan programs, the con suite, and more traditional program items from within the sf/fantasy/anime conventions to pagan ones, the furnature of the convention hoped to bring a friendlier, more interesting con experience to pagan fandom.

We'd very much like to expand and grow WitchyCon but we can't do it without you. Please volunteer to hold a discussion group, panel, workshop or help as a familiar. If you can help make WitchyCon better, you make it better for everyone. THANK YOU!
